The Cast Of Suicide Squad Meets The Founder Of Troma Studios In BTS Photos
The Suicide Squad cast meets Troma Studios co-founder Lloyd Kaufman in a series of behind-the-scenes photos shared by James Gunn.
The 76-year-old filmmaker and producer have collaborated with the now-famous comic book director for many years.
Troma Studios, which he co-founded with Michael Herz in 1974, became well known for producing low-budget, often exaggeratedly graphic horror films.
Gunn began working at the studio in 1995 as a writer on a variety of projects, including Tromeo and Juliet and Terror Firmer.
Gunn made his directorial debut through the studio with his 2006 horror film, Slither, after establishing a close friendship with Kaufman throughout the course of their collaborations.
Gunn has taken to Instagram to share a photo of himself and his old mentor and friend on the set of his most recent film, The Suicide Squad.
Gunn wished Kaufman a happy 76th birthday and shared four behind-the-scenes photos of him posing with some of the DCEU’s newbies, including John Cena, David Dastmalchian, and Daniela Melchior. “Happy birthday to the man who gave me my start in the movie industry,” Gunn tweeted, praising Kaufman for launching his career.
