The Batman BTS Photos Robert Pattinson is directed by Matt Reeves

Ben Affleck was rumored to be writing and directing The Batman, which  would have starred his DCEU version of Bruce Wayne/Batman, but he  backed out for a variety of reasons.

Reeves (War for the Planet of the Apes) was then recruited to write  and film the reboot, which will focus on Pattinson’s early years as the  Dark Knight.

The Batman will see its eponymous character come into his own as the “World’s Greatest Detective” while battling the Riddler, inspired by classic Batman comics like Year One and The Long Halloween (Paul Dano).

The Riddler hasn’t been seen on the big screen since Batman Forever in  1995, and Dano’s serial killer will be even darker than Jim Carrey’s  unhappy employee.

Commissioner Jim Gordon is played by Jeffrey Wright, Alfred Pennyworth  is played by Andy Serkis, Carmine Falcone is played by John Turturro,  Catwoman is played by Zoe Kravitz, and the Penguin is played by Colin  Farrell.

Furthermore, The Batman is said to tease other classic villains like as Two-Face and, of course, the Joker.

Reeves and Pattinson are under a lot of pressure to deliver the third live-action Batman film in a decade.

While many questioned the former Twilight star turned Indie star’s  ability to wear the cape and cowl, The Batman’s trailers have put those  doubts to rest. Christopher Nolan’s trilogy is reminiscent of Reeves’  harsh, grounded view on Gotham City and, as a result, Batman.
