Twitch takes its community guidelines violations very seriously. Any hate speech, racial slur, and swearing that can offend a particular section of any community is not tolerated on the Amazon-owned platform.

The most recent streamer to face a ban on the platform for using the word ‘cracker’ is Erind ‘Froste’ Puka. However, the streamer thinks the ban is not justified because he did not use the word cracker as a racial slur.

Recently, another streamer HasanAbi faced a ban on Twitch for the same reason. Since then, the internet is divided among two groups: One that thinks Cracker is a racial slur; and the other which thinks it’s not.

Twitch, however, feels Cracker goes against its policies of hate speech and any streamer who uses the word in the community is slapped with a ban.

“I got banned for calling Flyroh a cracker, no shot,” he said.” Froste has sent an appeal to Twitch, challenging the ban decision. In his appeal message, the streamer wrote “I was simply referring to the food crackers (like cheese and crackers), so please unban!” He shared the screenshot on his Twitter as well.
