Sneaker Politics x ASICS GEL-Lyte III Inspired By Shop Founder Derek Curry’s Military Service
By Christy r mathew
Sneaker Politics was a simple mom-and-pop supplying the Lafayette region when it first started in 2006.
Since then, entrepreneur Derek Curry has opened several sites throughout the South, all the way to Texas.
And soon, even more growth is on the horizon, but not through another storefront, but through a collaboration ASICS GEL-LYTE III, whose colorway honours Curry's military service.
The partnership compares Shigeyuki Mitsui's beloved runner to olive field gear in terms of both colour and texture.
While the suede overlays are relatively civil, the remainder of the upper makes a blatant reference to military issue, as the canvas foundation is suggestive of a fatigue jacket and trouser.
Tears across the toe mimic wear while paying honour to the United States, for which Curry fought.
Removable co-branded patches decorate both the lateral and medial sides of the heel; cream accents clothe the laces and multi-color sole; and the counter is adorned with Sneaker Politics' iconic "P" emblem.
