Ronda Rousey's initial plans for WrestleMania have reportedly been scrapped by WWE

Ronda Rousey, the former "SmackDown" Women's Champion, has apparently been cut from WWE's initial plans with WrestleMania 39 less than a week away.

Rousey and Shayna Baszler were expected to be in a position to contend for and win the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship going into the two-night event, according to long-held beliefs.

The current titleholders Becky Lynch and Lita had already agreed to team up with Trish Stratus in a six-woman tag match.

It seems like none of that is taking place. Rousey sustained an arm injury, making it uncertain whether she will compete at WrestleMania.

Her on-screen appearances have decreased over the past few weeks, giving WWE a brief window of time to attempt to develop a plausible narrative leading up to the anticipated title bout.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter now reports that WWE has completely cancelled the championship fight plans.

The forthcoming women's WrestleMania Showcase will feature a Fatal Four-way tag match between Rousey and Baszler and other participants from the "Raw" and "SmackDown" women's divisions.

According to rumours, Rousey and Baszler will be on one of the four teams, allowing Rousey to participate while many other fighters can handle the demands of the contest.
