No Way Home Writers Hope Legacy Spider-Man Characters Can Return

Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna, screenwriters for Spider-Man: No Way Home, have stated that they would want to see legacy Spider-Man performers return in a future edition.
Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield have joined Tom Holland in No Way Home, and moviegoers have been ecstatic for the previous two weeks. Videos of audience reactions to their revelation scene have been circulating on social media, and they all feature a lot of cheering.
The expectation for Spider-Man: No Way Home was exceptional during the Covid-19 epidemic era, as seen by the film’s worldwide box office gross of $1 billion. Classic villains like Green Goblin and Doc Ock were included in the promotion for No Way Home, leading to rumours that Maguire and Garfield might return, but no confirmation until the film’s release earlier this month.
The sheer potential of three Spider-Men in one picture, along with the presence of these villains, made this easily the most anticipated film of the year. In a recent interview with Variety, screenwriters Sommers and McKenna explored the prospect of Maguire and Garfield returning in a future Spider-Man picture.
McKenna says he “would hope so!” and “would love to see more of their adventure” when asked about this. He even said that the team was debating; which characters to add in a post-credits scene before settling on Venom’s appearance. They were talking about the idea of a post-credits scene for the older Spider-Men; which would set up a future chapter for them.
