Mizuno, a Japanese sportswear company, has released a unique trio of shoes inspired by Japanese Noh masks used in 14th century classical dance-drama performances.

The Mizuno "Noh Men" Pack includes the Contender S, Sky Medal, and Wave Rider 10 shoes, each of which is inspired by a different Noh mask.

The Wave Rider 10, released in 2007 to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the Wave Rider series, features an open-mesh base with suede panels in a vintage style.

The Wave Rider 10 is inspired by the Okina mask and comes in Opal Grey and cream colours with the Kanji term "翁" meaning wisdom on the heel window.

The Contender S has the fox-faced Kitsune mask with the appropriate "狐" inscription on the heel, as well as the original impact-to-response H2 construction found in golf balls.

Finally, the Sky Medal shoe, originally shown at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, is made out of molded EVA tooling with Transtab cushioning.

The shoes, which are available in Black Oyster and Ketchup, are inspired by the Tengu mask, which is meant to fend off evil spirits.
