Devin Haney recently scored a stellar win against George Kambosos Jr. In doing so, he became the undisputed champion in the lightweight division.
Following the fight, former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson shared his thoughts on a potential Haney vs Ryan Garcia showdown.
Tyson said, “I was worried about Devin in this fight. And he handled the guy real easy. But just that, he kept a jab at his face. He moved. He may have got hit with a punch but it didn’t disturb him. He just did it in a real professional fashion.”
He was also all praise for Garcia’s flamboyance in the ring. However, Tyson mentioned Haney will be coming in as the favorite, as he is fresh out of a spectacular title win.
Ryan Garcia had previously revealed to Tyson his thoughts on fighting Haney and Gervonta Davis.
Garcia was a guest on Tyson’s podcast in 2021. In conversation, Tyson asked him, “I’m close with Devin Haney. What do you think about him, is he in your future?”
In response, Garcia mentioned he wished to fight Haney in the future. However, he added that a fight with Davis is what he is looking for at the moment.
