Lady Gaga Confirms ‘Joker 2’ Role With Teaser Video

With a teaser video she shared on Twitter, Lady Gaga announced her participation in Todd Phillips' "Joker" sequel, dubbed "Joker: Folie à Deux" (where she has nearly 85 million followers).

She will appear in the film with a resurrected Joaquin Phoenix.

The sequel just got a release date of October 4, 2024.

Early reports had the pop star playing a new version of Harley Quinn.

And the version of “Cheek to Cheek” suggests that reports of the sequel being a musical are true.

In June, Variety claimed that Gaga was considering playing Harley Quinn in the next "Joker" sequel, which will feature a musical.

Director Todd Phillips posted the screenplay’s cover to Instagram on June 7, revealing the “Folie à Deux” subtitle.

The phrase refers to a shared delusional disorder, and Joker’s only real companion — other than Batman, anyway — has been Quinn, a character first created for “Batman: The Animated Series” in the early 1990s.

Warner Bros. will release “Joker: Folie à Deux” in theaters Oct. 4, 2024.
