Keanu Reeves, Star Of The Matrix 4, Discusses His Experiences As A Person Of Color

Keanu Reeves’ Chinese background has influenced how he reacts to being a person of colour.

In a rare interview, the Matrix Resurrections actor discussed his racial identity, which he rarely discusses in public. Reeves discussed recent news that has positioned him as a person of colour during an interview with NBC News, via Just Jared.

The actor said he doesn’t know if he can consent to be termed a person of colour, but he also stated that he doesn’t disagree with the perspective.

The actor then went to great length about his opinion. Reeves says his “relationship” with his “Asian identity” has “always been good and healthy,” according to Just Jared. “And I think it’s fantastic. We’ve been growing up together for a long time “

However, this isn’t the first interview in which Reeves has discussed his racial identity. In a 2019 interview with Essence, the actor discussed his background but stated that he is “not a spokesperson” for Asian actors in Hollywood.

In other news, Keanu Reeves’ latest film The Matrix Resurrections is set for a December 22 release.

Reeves plays Neo, and the film also stars Carrie Anne Moss as Trinity, Priyanka Chopra Jonas as Sati, and Jessica Henwick as Bugs. Reeves has been marketing the film constantly.
