Jurassic World Dominion Conquer Pixar’s Lightyear At The Box Office
It seems like the Dinosaurs are taking over the Space rangers as Jurassic World Dominion crosses Lightyear in terms of box office collection
On the opening weekend, the Jurassic World Dominion earned $58M whereas Lightyear earned $51M, as the estimated collection was to earn $70M – $85M but it didn’t.
Lightyear film had high expectations as it is a Pixar film and also had one of the most favorite characters of Toy Story “Buzz Lightyear”.
For the second week, Lightyear will be covering all Imax screens in North American Markets so that it doesn’t see much of a drop in collection.
Jurassic World Dominion is at 623.4M as of now, whereas Lightyear’s worldwide collection is $85.6M for the first week.
Pixar’s Lightyear arrived at the theatres on 17th June, now let’s see how much it can earn overall.
Even though the movie didn’t match the hyped expectations it still stands at the second position domestically after Jurassic World Dominion.
Critics called the movie very appealing visually and great voiceovers but it has still failed to unlock its high level of potential. As the story for them was not quite up to the mark but just a stretched feature film.
