Since the global lockdown in March 2020, Verzuz battles have been one of the hottest topics of conversation in hip-hop. While many rappers have voiced a desire to face Hov in a Verzuz duel in the past, it now appears that this is a pipe dream for many.

However, as soon as the rap veteran grabbed the crown, social media fans flocked to Twitter. Kanye West, according to many, would easily wipe him off the map. A few have also been referred to as Lil Wayne, owing to their large discographies.

Jay-Z was heard in an audio clip chatting with his former collaborator Alicia Keys suggesting there was no way in hell anyone could come up to his potential for a Verzuz clash. “No disrespect, but no one can stand on that stage with me. It’s not a chance in hell that anyone can stand on that stage with me,” said the 52-year-old rap megastar.

“You got to stand in front of the ‘Grammy Family Freestyle’ live? No one has ever even seen me perform that, you got to stand in front of that? That ain’t never going to happen,” the 52-year-old rap superstar added.

While the Internet hailed Kanye West as the best candidate to take on Jay-Z, the former remarked in a recent ‘Drink Champs’ interview that he would never go up against Hov because he was his employer, according to Revolt. “Oh, I didn’t think about that one. … Nah, cause that’s my boss, I would never go against Jay,” Kanye stated as he paid his respects to Jay. Kanye has just finished working on his tenth album, ‘Donda,’ with Jay-Z.
