‘I’m a Recovering Junkie And Alcoholic’: Mike Tyson Makes a Dark Admission

Mike Tyson had been the most frightening fighter for his opponents. Since his boyhood, he has witnessed far too much, which has eventually manifested itself inside the boxing ring. He was a knockout machine filled with agony and rage.

Interestingly, he recently discussed how he is dealing with his troubled history. While talking to N.O.R.E. & DJ EFN on the ‘Drink Champs’, Tyson was asked about the incident when he hit a fellow passenger on the plane.

He said, “Even though they didn’t press charges, and I was in the right from a moral perspective, I shouldn’t have touched him.”

In addition, he said, “I’m a recovering junkie and alcoholic. I do inventory every night. That’s just me. I do inventory every day, and I get dark, inventory gives me the light. But I don’t want to be great. I know a lot of great people, but they’re not good people. I want to be a good person.”

However, inside ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet,’ there is a normal human who aspires to be a better person. It’s been fascinating to follow Tyson’s development throughout the years. The man is an enigma because he has completely re-invented himself after his life as a boxer.

‘Iron Mike’ has been one of the most intelligent fighters inside the ring. He came in like a complete warrior and had a mindset to destroy the opponent. But, having a destructive thought process comes with its cons, too. Here’s what Tyson has to say about the person he was before.

“I know the art of fight, I know the art of war, that’s all I ever studied. That’s why I am so feared, that’s why they feared me when I was in the ring because I saw, I was an annihilator, that’s what I was born for. Now those days are gone, it’s empty, I’m nothing. I’m working on feeling the art of humbleness.”

The warrior is seen in tears in the video, which shows how hard he’s trying to be better every single day. The former heavyweight champion has been through some dark times in his past.

And the person he became to fight his demons was ruthless, but outside of boxing, this persona has not helped him a lot. As a result, the boxer is now trying to do everything he can to remedy the ruthlessness he had to display as a boxer and take a step towards his new self.
