Floyd Mayweather made $500,000 for every punch he landed in the last decade, and he landed a lot of punches.

The Unbeaten American landed 1,833 punches from 10 fights in the 2010s, all wins, with two knockouts.

Mayweather beat a who's who of boxing royalty during that era, including dominant wins over Miguel Cotto, Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, and Manny Pacquiao.

He also finished Conor McGregor in the UFC fighter's only boxing rules contest to date, in a bout which punctuated his earnings.

Mayweather earned approximately $915 million for those 10 fights.

Of the 4,270 punches Mayweather threw in those 10 fights, he landed 1,833 (a 43% connection rate),

each time he rammed his gloved knuckles into an opponent's temple, chin, or ribcage.

Mayweather’s top-grossing fight was against Manny Pacquiao. That fight generated 4.6 million PPV buys and made better than $400 million.

Floyd Mayweather has money to burn. While he’s not actually burning it, he had no problem spending it.

In an ESPN article, Mayweather said money doesn’t define him. He would be the same person he is now even if he didn’t have all his wealth.
