Five-division boxing champion Floyd Mayweather retired from professional boxing in 2017. However, he still participates in exhibition bouts.

Mayweather last fought former sparring partner Don Moore in an exhibition fight. Now he is up against a Japanese fighter. However, this is not his first opponent from Japan. ‘Money’ has also fought Tenshin Nasukawa before.
The American boxer is slated to fight Asakura on September 25th, at the at the Rizin event. It will be held at Saitama Super Arena in Japan.
The Japanese fighter will be fighting for the first time inside a boxing ring. He even said, “’I am an MMA fighter, but I will take this opportunity and use it to raise my name and my value internationally. I will win this fight.”
Furthermore, the 30-year-old fights in the featherweight division. Asakura is 5’9” tall, and has a record of 14-3-0. Interestingly, it might become a bit tricky for Mayweather, as the Japanese fighter fights from a southpaw stance.
Asakura was first inclined toward fighting when he learned karate in elementary school. He started his MMA training with his brother while he was in high school.
