Kevin Durant has frequently professed his appreciation for music, particularly hip-hop, outside from basketball. Slim Reaper (Durant's nickname) has demonstrated his love of music through his collaboration with Nike, where he developed his characteristic designs - the KD series - with musical motifs.
He previously launched the KD 13 silhouettes in 'Chill & Hype' and 'Funk' colours, and he is now expanding his music-themed footwear portfolio with a partnership with hit music producers 9th Wonder and Boi-1da.
The creators are working with Kevin Durant and Nike to create their own versions of the KD 15 sneakers. The sneakers' release dates have yet to be officially revealed.
The first is Boi-1da's hues, which are mainly produced in a darker palette yet are as lively because to the contrasting neon highlights. The Jamaican-Canadian record producer's design is made of mesh and foam.
The Kevin Durant x Boi-1da x Nike KD 15 has a black upper with pops of pink, orange, and volt. The top has a smattering of volt, pink, and orange colours, as well as gradient swooshes.
Boi-1da's signature appears in orange on the right shoe's tongue, while the left pair includes a "KD" nickname in volt. The producer's distinctive 86 BPM (beats per minute) allusion is emphasized over the lateral heels and spine.
The sneakers are set to be launched on August 17, 2022, at a retail price of $160, according to the sneaker leak site Kicks On Fire. Nike is expected to make an official announcement.
