Drake went on to plead guilty to charges of child endangerment and of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles. The victim had made her public statement at the trial; as she accused the actor of sexually assaulting her when she was a minor.

The actor was sentenced to 2 years of probation and 200 hours of community service. Drake is now speaking out about the issue for the first time. He took to his social media to post a short video.

The actor offered to explain the trial and the nature of his crimes and admitted that he was involved in “reckless texting” with a fan whose age he wasn’t aware of.
