Canelo Alvarez's promoter issues a direct challenge to David Benavidez: "Earn Your Fight"

In his boxing career, Canelo Alvarez has accomplished a number of things.

Becoming the super middleweight champion and one of the top boxers pound for pound is a couple of them.

He has a stellar 58-2 record and 39 knockouts to his credit.

Alvarez has cemented his status as one of the best fighters to ever enter the ring.

Alvarez is the pride of Mexico, but recently a different Mexican fighter has been vying for his attention.

For a while now, David Benavidez has been urging Alvarez to engage in combat.

According to Eddie Hearn, Canelo Alvarez's promoter, if he wins his forthcoming bout against Caleb Plant, he may face David Benavidez the following year.

Canelo wants to fight twice this year, Hearn stated, once against John Ryder on May 6 and once against Dmitry Bivol again.
