Brian Cage's AEW Contract Status: Backstage Update

Contract negotiations between Brian Cage and AEW have been challenging from the start.

He was still considering Impact Wrestling's offers to remain a member of their roster when it was originally revealed that he had joined AEW.

A pre-Rob Van Dam matches injury to "The Machine" at Hard to Kill in 2020 complicated matters further.

Finally, while recovering from the bicep rupture, the former Lucha Underground star transitioned into All Elite.

His time on the sidelines could be having an impact on the AEW contract's expiration at this time, as it is nearing its conclusion.

The contract for Cage AEW, was initially scheduled to expire between late January and mid-February.

Tony Khan, though, wanted to keep Cage around until at least the end of June due to the time he lost healing from his injuries at the start of his career.

The former FTW Champion has reportedly caught WWE's attention, and the company is eager to speak with him if he becomes a free agent.
