Authors Of Books Have Praised The Witcher Season 2
Andrzej Sapkowski, a Polish novelist, praises the team behind Season 2 of The Witcher for their work adapting his works.
Netflix’s The Witcher, based on Sapkowski’s stories, premiered its first season in late 2019 and soon became one of the streaming service’s most popular products.
Netflix renewed The Witcher for a second season even before it premiered, assuming the fantasy series will appeal to fans of both the source material (and video games).
Season 2 will be released on December 17th, which is later this week.
Season 1 introduced audiences to Henry Cavill’s Geralt of Rivia, the witcher who travels the Continent fighting monsters for money, based on Sapkowski’s The Last Wish.
While the book centered mostly on Geralt, the television series adopted a non-linear narrative to bring Yennefer of Vengerberg (Anya Chalotra) and Ciri of Cintra (Freya Allan) on par with the title character.
All three timelines fully converged at the end of Season 1, with Geralt finding Ciri and Yennefer becoming a prisoner of Nilfgaard.
