Viola Davis Takes Over for Kylie Jenner in WAP Video

Viola Davis seems to be on board with fans having a problem with Kylie Jenner.

She captioned the picture asking who did this with laughing emojis. Viola also used the hashtag #howtogetawayfromwap. She took to her Instagram to post a fan edit of her face on Kylie’s body. It was a picture of the WAP music video.

Taraji P. Henson, Questlove, SZA, and more stars couldn’t contain their laughter in the comments of Davis’ post. Porsha Wiliams commented saying why does she love it. However, even Cardi B responded saying she is such a big fan right now. The rapper tweeted it on Sunday, sharing the edit herself.

Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s WAP broke the internet as the launched their song and also the video. Kylie was a part of the video among several others like  Normani, Rosalía, Mulatto, and Rubi Rose.

However, fans weren’t too happy when they saw Kylie in the music video. A fan retweeted a shot of Normani doing splits in the video and wrote, “Normani did ALL this and Kylie walked down the hall and opened a door. If that’s not a perfect visual indication of Black women having to do the most and white women do the bare minimum to get somewhere, I don’t know what is.”

Cardi responded saying Normani is one of the best dancers then why will she just be opening doors. She questioned how will that make sense. The rapper went on saying the best part about the song is the beats which make people want to dance. Cardi added saying not everything is about race. She said there are issues about race in the world which she speaks about.

Cardi B has defended casting Kylie Jenner in her latest music video. Fans have criticized Cardi for including the beauty mogul in her video. They also have petitioned for removing Kylie from the video.

In another tweet, she defended Kylie and explained why she chose her for the video. She said Kylie treated her and her sister, Hennessy, and daughter, Kulture with so much love. Cardi further said that Offset and Travis are really close and Kris Jenner has given her good advice. She also said Kris’s boyfriend, Cory Gamble is really cool with her.

Another fan said Normani’s talent is dancing and Kylie’s talent is strutting like a model and that is what they did. Cardi retweeted that saying ‘Exactly’. The rapper’s response came after a petition was made on change.org to remove Kylie Jenner from the music video. The video also features Rubi Rose and Sukikhana.

The individual who started the petition said the video was perfect until Kylie came in and she felt like throwing her phone. The petition has over 63.600 signatures so far.

Kylie has yet to respond to the backlash, but she shared behind-the-scenes photos and footage from the video shoot on Instagram. It included a shot that showed Kris snapping a pic of Cardi B and her youngest daughter together.

Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion recently released their surprise collaboration ‘WAP’ music video. It had been trending on YouTube ever since. And Twitter was freaking out as well, not for the same reasons though.

In the video, there comes a point where the music stops and a mysterious yet familiar animal print-clad figure passes by. The figure was none other than Kylie Jenner.

Many fans took offense to her appearance in the music video because of her and her family’s history of appropriating Black culture. A lot of memes started doing the rounds expressing the same concern and frustration of their fans.
