Match Report : All smiles in the KKR dug out. They came into the game needing a win. They have delivered a great knockout punch. The intent was there with the ball, bat and on the field too. Winning a T20 game by 86 runs is massive.

MI need to beat SRH by 170+ runs after scoring 250+ and if they chase, there is no chance they can surpass KKR’s net run rate. So RR not only packed PBKS’s bags. They realised there is a lot of free baggage allowance and thrown MI’s bag in there too.

Such a poor performance from the Royals. There was nothing Royal about today for them, barring Tewatia. In fact RR started pretty well with the ball and KKR snatched the momentum back with Unadkat’s final over. Gill, Rana, Tripathi, everyone batted with intent and RR lost their way. 171 was well above average score. PBKS needed RR to win within 11 overs, that didn’t happen.

At 35/7 in 9 overs, MI would have started packing their bags too. Tewatia fought with the bat too, but Mavi and Ferguson were just outstanding with their variations and accuracy. RR’s batters didn’t stay low enough on this pitch and were out bowled quite a few times. KKR have qualified for playoffs literally with the impossible NRR scenario for MI, but we will have to wait until tomorrow to officially announce that.
