Video of King Kohli 32nd Century in ODIs : Flashback : IND v NZ 2017

India vs New Zealand, 3rd ODI (D/N), Kanpur, Oct 29 2017

Match Result: India won by 6 runs

Player of the Match: Virat Kohli

Match Report: Domination. Kohli and centuries was such a beautiful love affair. Notice how I say ‘was’. This is because as all of you know, Virat Kohli has gone without century for over two years now. All we are watching right now is flashbacks of his domination. There’s no guilt in that. We love Kohli, the batsman, and we have enjoyed his centuries. In this particular match, both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were on song. This was the phase when Kohli was more focused on his fitness, maximizing running between the wickets. From his tally of 113 runs, only 42 runs came through boundaries. That speaks highly of how Kohli was more focused on the singles and doubles.

We here at Clout Cric celebrate every cricketer’s achievement. Milestone. And just like you, we also are a Kohli fan. It must be noted here that even though India scored beyond 300, they were given a tough contest by the Kiwi batsmen. India eventually won the match by a narrow margin of 6 runs.

Virat Kohli: It was a pretty close game. Credit to NZ, they fought hard in this series and forced us to play our best cricket. Credit to the skill and character they possess. You’ve to tell yourself that the bowler knows best because he too wants to win the game. With the dew like it was, sometimes it feels even 22 fielders won’t be enough. Glad the guys pulled it through. The wicket eased out in the second half, and it was coming on beautifully. It was good to bat even during our innings but it slowed down considerably. The aim is always to help the team win games, regardless of how many runs I score. Very happy we could get another one in the bag, and move forward to the T20s.

Kane Williamson: Fantastic series. Some really good cricket played and great spirit. Credit to Virat and team, they were the better team, just. Lots of promising signs for us. Coming to this game, and coming so close is frustrating, but very good signs. The surfaces were good throughout. That’s the nature of the sport, but you do need to be at your best to get across the line against these guys. One promising sign of note was our middle order. Tom Latham batted with such clarity in his mind, it was great to watch. Also Henry Nicholls. Ross is not new but he’s playing nicely as well. Bowlers stuck it out as well. They performed well in most games. You look back on little moments, but at the end of the day, India played better cricket. You’re always weighing up the balance of the side when you select it.
