Game Summary

With the opening tip, it seemed like a fire was lit in the Celtics players as they went on a scoring streak of 18-3. The Bucks responded and attacked but they could not get their gears moving. The Bucks needed their ace Giannis to lead them but he was stopped on his tracks by the stifling Celtics defence. Jrue Holdiay was the only Buck getting some points on the board but that wasn’t enough.

After struggling in Game 1, Jaylen Brown sought to redeem himself and he did by going berserk in the 1st quarter itself scoring 17 points. The Celtics continued their onslaught in the 2nd quarter. They improved their defense so much that they were forcing turnovers so many times. The Bucks were unable to hold their fort and the Celtics were leading 65-40 in the end of the 1st half.

Once the 2nd half started, Giannis had enough and he went on a rampage. The Celtics were unable to contain him as Giannis decided to carry his team on his shoulders when they were struggling so much. The Celtics struggled to shoot the ball well and the lead was getting cut. Giannis tore the defense on the interior completely.

The Bucks strategy of guarding the perimeter and leaving Brook Lopes in the interior worked well as the Celtics struggled to get their rhythm back. But once the 4th quarter started, Giannis was unable to duplicate his 3rd quarter performance while Tatum handled the ball and took charge of the offense. The Bucks continued to struggle and the score gap became wider and wider ultimately succumbing to their opponents.

For the Celtics, Jaylen Brown had a huge scoring night as he put up 30 points, 6 assists, 6 rebounds, 2 steals and a block. Jayson Tatum supported him with 29 points, 3 rebounds, 8 assists, 3 steals and a block. Grant Williams came off the bench and put up 21 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists.
