Tom Holland Is Tight-Lipped On Tobey-Andrew Cameos In Spider-Man 3

Tom Holland sat down with Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday as he discussed his upcoming Marvel movie, Spider-Man 3. It has become a trending topic after the actor was among several other cast members who teased a possible title and sent the internet ablaze.

The actor took to his social media handle as he wrote, “So excited to announce the new Spider-Man title. Can’t wait for you a lot to see what we have been up to. Love from Atlanta.” He also posted a still from the movie along with it. The next photo contained the title, “Spider-Man: Phone Home”.

The post garnered more than 3 million likes and some very curious comments from the cast. His co-star in the movie, Zendaya commented under the photo as she said, “What the hell.”

However, this is not the actual title and there was no mention of the actual title during his interview with Jimmy. The host kept questioning the actor on whether Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield would have cameos in the upcoming movie. Tom responded laughing as he said it would be a miracle if they could have kept that from him.

The actor clarified that he has obviously read the script from the beginning to the end. Spider-Man 3 is being shot in Atlanta on a stage where Tom originally auditioned for his role in the first installment. However, Tom did reveal that his brother Harry has a cameo in the movie which came to him after he played the part of a drug dealing ‘shaker kid’ in Cherry.

“I wanted to shed light on a problem that is on everybody’s doorstep.”

The Spider-Man actor shared, “We kind of had this idea that in every film I would be in, Harry would reprise his role as the shaker kid. So he is back again in his own sort of, MCU Cinematic Universe as the ecstasy dealing shaker kid.”

Spider-Man is directed by Jon Watts, who also directed the previous two movies as well. The movie will premiere on December 17. Tom spoke more about Cherry as he discussed why he wanted to do more crime drama projects.

The actor shared that he needed to educate himself on the problem as he referenced the opioid epidemic. He said, “I wanted to shed light on a problem that is on everybody’s doorstep. I hope people can watch this film and feel more confident about opening up and seeking help.”

Tom further revealed that he has lost 30 pounds for the movie. He also shared that at one point, the Russo brothers flipped things on him and he had to lose some weight again after having to put it back on. The Russo brothers are the co-directors of the film. The actor said, “I love the Russos and would do anything for them, but I genuinely thought they were going to kill me.”

Cherry releases in theaters Feb. 26 and on Apple TV+.
