Tisca Chopra Distributes Over 1,000 Kg Of Rice To Theatre Workers Under ‘Tisca’s Table’ Initiative

Tisca Chopra went to many theaters in Mumbai this morning and distributed 1500 kgs of rice packets to the theater staff affected hy the ongoing pandemic.

Tisca Chopra plans to reach out to more theater staff across the entire country through her noble Tisca’s Table initiative .

What Did She Say?

Commenting on the drive, Tisca Chopra said, “We all know how theaters are closed. It’s been almost a year and a half. The single-screen theatres have faced the major brunt of the same. In normal times these theatres are the hubs of the social life in that area – perhaps the only sources of entertainment for people living around there.”

“The workers end up becoming friends with the customers coming in every weekend for a movie. And these theater workers have been out of work for this whole time. I felt we must reach out in whatever way we can and thus we decided to take this up as a part of our initiative. If each one of us comes out and helps, we may be able to curb the suffering around us a little, at least in terms of food and basics. Whether it is a small or a big help, it doesn’t matter.”

“We have tons of rice to share with people in need. It’s basic necessity in this area. It was kindly shared with us by the Indian Gate Basmati group. At this point we felt that Tisca’s Table needed to put food on the tables for people where they might not be able to afford them now, ”added Tisca.

Tisca’s Works During The Pandemic

Tisca Chopra is also trying to help daily wagers in the pandemic.

“There is not enough work and that has soon become a problem with Delta version of COVID along with the 3rd wave approaching. Through India Gate Initiative and Chef Vikas Khanna, we have reached out to people who truly cannot meet their needs.”

Gautam Thakker of Everymedia kindly assisted in establishing the program with the theater staff and Mr. Akshaye Rathi to ensure that food reaches all parts of Maharashtra and Vidarbha. We are working on other options and reaching out to all those in need, ”Tisca concluded.
