Timothee Chalamet To Co-Host Met Gala Festivities In September

Oscar nominee Timothee Chalamet has never been to the Met Gala but he was still hand-picked by Anna Wintour according to reports to co-host her Annual Costume Institute benefit.

The actor will be accompanying poet Amanda Gorman and CFA Chairman Tom Ford for the sold-out black-tie fundraiser. The theme for this year is In America: A Lexicon of Fashion. Timothee usually showcases his sense of style by wearing designers like Prada, Louis Vuitton, S.R. Studio. LA, CA., and Haider Ackermann on red carpets.

The actor had revealed his shock after hearing celebrities having stylists back in 2018. He had shared that it is not why he acts but he can wear cool clothes from some of the nicest designers. The Little Women alum said, “It’s certainly not why I act, but I can wear cool clothes from some of the nicest designers in the world. So why am I going to pay someone to figure out what I should be wearing? That’s the fun part.”

The Met Gala this year opens on September 19 while the second part, In America: An Anthology of Fashion will not open until May 5 of next year. The event was originally made famous by the late Diana Vreeland. However, it is more known for the line of celebrities; and their glam which gives us iconic selfies than the actual museum exhibits.

Previously the performers included Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, The Weeknd, Madonna, and Cher. As for Timothee, will likely be attending the Cannes Film Festival premiere of West Anderson’s The French Dispatch between July 6-17. He plays the role of a student revolutionary Zeffirelli.

The Cadillac commercial star will also portray Paul Atreides in Denis Villeneuve’s $165M sci-fi epic Dune; which hits US/UK theaters and HBO Max on October 1.
