Thor 4 Continues Being On The Top, Even After A Big Drop In Its 2nd Week Collection

Even though after a huge fall at the box office, Thor: Love & Thunder continues to be no 1 in the box office collection.

Thor: Love & Thunder was another most awaited movie of the year with high expectations but it did get a lot of mixed reviews and less rotten tomatoes rating. It got a rating of 67% which is much lesser than Thor Ragnarok which had a rating of 93%.

On its very first weekend, it collected a total of $143 million at the Box office of North American markets. Whereas talking about past Thor films their box office collections of opening weekends domestically are as follows: Thor earned an amount of $65M, Thor the Dark world $85.7M, and Thor Ragnarok $122.7M. Globally the collection of Thor amounts to $320M.

In its second weekend Thor: Love & Thunder saw a drop of -68% which is quite a big fall. The second weekend total amounts to an estimate $46M. In all the total collection for week 2 globally sums up to $498 million.

There were a couple of films that competed with Thor: Love & Thunder at the box office but they didn’t surpass the movie’s collection. The recent release of Where The Crawdads Sing by Sony Pictures was also not able to surpass the opening weekend of the God of Thunder. Where the Crawdads Sing amounted to $17M in its opening weekend which is quite well. The movie got a rotten tomatoes rating of 36% and negative reviews but still, it debuted well.

Thor: Love & Thunder revolves around the story of Thor whose superhero days are now over & he will be retiring in the movie. But the villain God Butcher (Gorr) is on a motive to extinct all  Gods. That’s why Thor’s retirement gets interrupted and to help Thor fight Gorr Jane Foster & Valkyrie joins him. We get to see in the trailer a new version of Jane as the mighty Thor who is worthy of holding the Mjolnir.

Thor Love & Thunder is out now in theatres.
