‘The shirtless thing is getting harder and harder for me,’ says Dave Bautista

Dave Bautista, a former wrestler turned actor, has spoken out about his Marvel Cinematic Universe character Drax the Destroyer’s future. Since the 2014 film Guardians of the Galaxy, he has been playing the role. In the sequel and the last two Avengers films, Infinity War and Endgame, the actor reprised his role.

Bautista, who is currently starring in Zack Snyder’s zombie film Army of the Dead, told Ellen DeGeneres on her show that the third Guardians of the Galaxy film would be his last.

“By the time Guardians 3 comes out, I’ll be 54 years old. It’s becoming more difficult for me to go shirtless. We function in three-part sequences. It’s already been confirmed that this will be James Gunn’s final film, and when he’s finished, I’m done. “I’m just able to step aside and tie it up now that the journey has come full circle,” the actor said.

Drax, played by Dave Bautista, is a member of the Guardians squad, which is headed by Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord. He belonged to the Kylosians, a tribal warrior tribe. On Thanos’ orders, half of his people were killed by Ronan the Accuser.

“I’m proud of what I’ve done,” Bautista said in a recent interview with PTI about Army of the Dead. But I’m so concentrated on moving ahead and completing stuff that I always want to do that there aren’t many days where I sit back and reflect on what I’ve accomplished and where I’ve come from.”

The actor has said that he is interested in playing Batman’s supervillain Bane, and that he has spoken with Warner Bros. about it. Aside from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Dave Bautista will also appear in Thor: Love and Thunder, the fourth Thor film.
