The Perfect John Cena Joke is a Peacemaker Fan Poster

Peacemaker has a fan-made poster that combines John Cena’s DC antihero with his wrestling career to produce a funny piece of fan art. For the series, Cena reprised his role as skilled vigilante Christopher Smith from The Suicide Squad. The Suicide Squad’s James Gunn created Peacemaker, which aired its first three episodes on HBO Max and will continue to air weekly.

Peacemaker is a Bell Reve prison inmate in The Suicide Squad. Smith is chosen to help destroy the mysterious Project Starfish, a covert experiment in Corto Maltese. The Task Force X team sent to the country soon discovers that the project is being run by alien tyrant Starro the Conqueror and that the tests were carried out by the US government.

However Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman) meant to disclose the truth, Peacemaker murders him on Amanda Waller’s (Viola Davis) orders to remove any evidence of US involvement, though Peacemaker is killed by Bloodsport (Idris Elba).

The fan-made poster, which was shared by digital artist Rahal Nejraoui on his own Instagram, is a throwback to Cena’s wrestling career, which began in 1999. Emelia Harcourt (Jennifer Holland), John Economos (Steve Agee), Clemson Murn (Chukwudi Iwuji), Vigilante (Freddie Stroma), and Leota Adebayo (Danielle Brooks) pose behind the titular character, his U.S. flag-inspired car, and pet eagle Eagly, in the fan-made poster, which is eerily similar to the official promotional material. Cena, on the other hand, is missing from the billboard, leaving only his costume where he stood. Cena’s absence refers to the star’s “You Can’t See Me” taunt from his WWE career, which was inspired by G-Tony Unit’s Yayo.

Here’s a look at Nejraoui’s poster.

Cena had already made a number of appearances on the big screen before being cast in The Suicide Squad, moving away from his wrestling career. Cena made his acting debut in the 2006 action film The Marine, followed by roles in comedy such as Daddy’s Home 2 and Blockers.
