Game Summary

With the opening tip, the Suns opened up the scoring with a 3-pointer from Devin Booker. The Mavericks responded with a 3 of their own to get points on the scoreboard. The Suns were riding high on offense until the middle of the 1st quarter when they suddenly went cold.

The Mavericks were wasting a lot of their possession from the 3-point line. It is ambitious to try but they were not getting anything in. The game slowed down a bit as possessions were not leading to points. Yet the Mavericks were leading in the end of the 1st half with 51-44.

Once the 3rd quarter started, Jalen Brunson shouldered the offense. He attacked the rim and drew a lot of fouls in the process. The other Mavericks players were all taking their shot from the 3-point line and it was falling better compared to the previous quarter.

Jae Crowder stepped up shooting but that wasn’t of any help considering the rest of the Sun’s players were struggling. The Mavericks have certainly upped their defense and were somewhat successful in keeping Ayton off the interior.

The final quarter starter and the Suns were still struggling to cut the lead. Reggie Bullocks’s 3-ponters came at the best possible time for the Mavericks as he helped keep the lead intact. The Suns had no answer and ultimately regulation period ended.
