The Gaston Prequel TV Show From Beauty and the Beast Is Officially Coming To Disney+

A Beauty and the Beast prequel series based on Gaston and LeFou has been ordered by Disney+. Since the 2017 live-action version of the timeless tale, a spin-off involving the evil duo has been rumoured. Both Luke Evans (Gaston) and Josh Gad (LeFou) freely expressed their want to revisit their characters and learn more about how they met in the first place on the press tour.

It was revealed in 2020 that Disney+ was working on a prequel limited series. Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis, creators of Once Upon a Time, consulted with Gad to flesh out the story. Gad and Evans agreed to reprise their roles in Bill Condon’s smash movie, which also starred Emma Watson as Belle.

Alan Menken, the legendary composer, was even believed to be creating new music. The streaming service has now officially ordered the complete series, more than a year later.

A Beauty and the Beast (working title) prequel series has been ordered by Disney+. The mouse confirmed several thrilling suspicions and offered additional facts about the next project while announcing Evans and Gad’s comeback. For one thing, the evil duo is becoming a trio.

The limited musical series will have eight episodes, two more than expected, according to Disney Branded Television and ABC Signature. The expedition will be an exciting adventure that acts as both an origin narrative and a tribute to the famous classic. Viewers will get a crash course on the beginnings of Gaston and LeFou’s odd partnership, among other questions addressed by its predecessor.

The statement also hinted at how a mysterious enchantress came to have her spell cast over the prince and his castle. With that in mind, it’s unclear whether Evans and Gad’s fellow Beauty and the Beast film co-stars will appear in the series. That, as well as answers to questions like why Gaston started eating four dozen eggs, would be appreciated. And did he know the prince before to their epic battle for Belle? Fans will have to wait until the summer of 2022 to say hello to the show, since it will not begin production until then.
