The Black Adam Set in a new image by Dwayne Johnson Shows

With a brand new picture, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has shown off Black Adam’s huge package. The former WWE Champion is one of Hollywood’s biggest and most bankable stars, having appeared in hit franchises like Fast & Furious and Jumanji, but in the DCEU’s Black Adam, he will finally make his long-awaited superhero debut. Black Adam finally started filming last month after being involved with the anti-hero project for over a decade and the coronavirus pandemic delaying the start of shooting.

Johnson also revealed that the film would be released in July 2022, not long after development began. Johnson and director Jaume Collet-Jungle Serra’s Cruise will be released in July, marking yet another summer release for the duo. While little is known about the plot, a concept trailer shown at last year’s DC FanDome revealed that Black Adam will be set in the current DCEU timeline (5,000 years after his incarceration) and will focus on the destruction of his homeland, Kahndaq.

The Justice Society of America will be introduced in addition to Johnson’s Black Adam, with Atom Smasher (Noah Centineo), Hawkman (Aldis Hodge), Cyclone (Quintessa Swindell), and Dr. Fate (Quintessa Swindell) (Pierce Brosnan). The beginning of the film teased and revealed a lot about his comic book project, including a glimpse of his Black Adam costume underneath his everyday clothes. ‘The People’s Champion’ has now given an inside look at the film set.

It’s unclear if this is a package designed to depict the devastation of Kahndaq, but it does have an old-school feel to it. However, given that this is a DCEU film starring a powerful force like Black Adam, one would expect a lot of big battles with a lot of damage. As a result, it could be used to depict a variety of scenes in the movie. The photo provides yet another exciting glimpse into the making, and Johnson’s encouraging words, as well as his mention that they are in the “midway point stride,” impart hope after the film’s numerous delays.

It’s also clear that the film is well on its way to being ready for its 2019 release date, with a more revealing trailer likely being released at this year’s DC FanDome.
