On Thursday night, singer and reality TV star, Tamar Braxton was rushed to the hospital after she was found unresponsive in her room at the Ritz-Carlton hotel in downtown Los Angeles.
She was found by her boyfriend David Adefeso, who called 911 saying that Tamar had been drinking and had taken an unknown amount of prescription pills.
A Spokesperson for the LAPD confirmed that they had received a call around 9:45pm on Thursday night, reporting that a female had a medical emergency listed as a ‘possible overdose.’ According to reports, the ambulances arrived soon after and immediately took the singer to the hospital. Sources have claimed that David believes it was a possible suicide attempt.

Did Tamar hint the alleged suicide attempt?
Hours prior to her hospitalization, Braxton reportedly alluded her alleged suicide attempt in a message sent to various family members on Thursday. In the message Tamar seems to be lamenting about being a ‘slave’ and suggested that the ‘only way out’ of her misery was ‘death.’
“The only way I see out is death”
“I am a slave, I do not own my life. My stories, my pictures, my thoughts or beliefs. I’ve asked my massa to free me. I’m threatened and punished for it. The only way I see out is death. I will choose that before I continue to [live] like this. Please help me,” concluded Tamar. The message was a screenshot Tamar had taken of a drafted tweet that she never published on her Twitter. According to sources, Tamar’s heartbreaking words received a near immediate response from family members and her boyfriend.
A Representative for Tamar reached out with a message. “Tamar has had a very tough and emotional day. More information will be coming in the next few days. Please pray for her.”
