Taapsee Pannu Hits Back At Negative Reviews Of Haseen Dillruba While Embracing The Positive Ones

Taapsee Pannu recently tweeted a portion from an interview of Netflix’s CCO and Co-CEO Ted Sarandos.

In the interview, Ted shares that Tapsee’s latest film ti be released on Netflix titled Haseen Dillruba gained lot of praise and popularity on the global streaming platform.

Taapsee thanked Netflix’s co-CEO and Chief Content Officer for the recognition he gave to her film in a tweet.

“From the horse’s mouth 🙂 Thank you for helping #HaseenDilruba cross borders so swiftly so quickly,” Taapsee said in a tweet.

Haseen Dillruba received mixed reviews. While some praise the movie, other critics of the film found faults in the storyline. Some portion of the audience even accused the film of promoting toxic relationships and domestic violence.

Actress Taapsee Pannu and filmmaker Kanika Dhillon have been responding straight forward to some negative reviews which they see as personal attack on their identity.

‘Biggest Slate of Original Content’

During an interview with Film Companion tabloid, the connect officer spoke at length about Netflix projects in India.

“I feel like our work in India has just begun. We are working with local storytellers, we’ve started our biggest slate of original content last year that’s continuing to grow, some of our films have been immensely popular with our Indian members. Jagame Thandhiram is one that is immensely popular, and Haseen Dillruba was in our top 10 in 22 different countries,” he said.

“That, to me, is the real possibility of exporting culture, exporting storytelling and helping the planet, this big scary place, feel a little smaller and safer because we know each other. So that’s a cool benefit that we get from all that,” he added.

Upcoming Projects Of Taapsee

Haseen Dillruba is directed by Vinil Mathew and the movie also features Vikrant Massey and Harshvardhan Rane in pivotal roles. Taapsee plays the woman who became the main suspect after her husband’s death.

On the work front, the actress has a line-up of films including Deepak Sundarajan’s Tamil film with Vijay Sethupathi; Shabaash Mithu, which is based on the life of cricketer Mithali Raj; Looop Lapeta, the remake of the German hit Run Lola Run; Rashmi Rocket; a Telugu thriller titled Mishan Impossible; and Anurag Kashyap’s Dobaaraa.
