Sushant Singh Rajput had earlier donated Rs 2.5 crore with no fanfare
Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput had earlier made a collective donation of Rs 2.5 crore to states of Nagaland and Kerala without making a buzz about it!
Actor Sushant Singh Rajput has passed away. But the stories that are surfacing now about his pure soul are overwhelming. People are remembering the actor and recalling his good deeds. One such person is the writer-director Charudutt Acharya, whose father PB Acharya has been the governor of Assam from 2014-19.
In a post, he explained how his entire family was a huge fan of the actor. Acharya added on revealing about Sushant’s donation to Nagaland as he wrote, “In 2018, a massive flood had ravaged the state. The government of Nagaland had put out an appeal to all the citizens of the country to donate to the CM’s Flood Relief Fund. At that time, Sushant was shooting in Delhi.”
“He quietly came to Dimapur, the commercial capital of Nagaland, and handed over a cheque of 1.25 crores to the CM Neiphiu Rio. (pictures attached). There was no fanfare. There was no major publicity. (He had made a similar quiet donation of 1.25 crores to the Kerala CM’s Fund too),” he added.
The writer revealed further that Sushant had called his father in Kohima and spoke quite warmly. The actor had even expressed his desire to visit Kohima too.
Sushant’s demise has sparked a debate in the country. There are many who have said that the actor was suffering from depression. He was never accepted in this industry which runs on nepotism.
The actor died due to suicide on this Sunday, 14th June. His last rites were performed yesterday, which had a very few B-town celebs in attendance. Some of them were Shraddha Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rajkummar Rao.
