Stephen A. Smith Believes That The Warriors Are A Roadblock For The Grizzlies

The Warriors have made it to the next round. They will be waiting for either the Memphis Grizzlies or the Minnesota Timberwolves for the next round. Of course, there are high hopes that the Grizzlies will be the most likely team to face them.

Upcoming matchup

The Warriors have come back from the past to reclaim the throne that they once sat upon. Their dynasty was considered as one of the greatest of all-time. But having to face a young and inexperienced Grizzlies who can be unpredictable at times.

Many believe that the Grizzlies have the ability to make it all the way to the Finals with the plethora of talent that they have. Plus an aggressive coach like Taylor Jenkins, who has worked the players to play at a pace which makes the rest of the league look like turtles.

Stephen A. Smith’s comments

Stephen A. Smith who is a huge fan of the Memphis Grizzlies believes they can lift the chip. He goes on to talk about them on ESPN and their Achilles heel at the same time.

“Well, I mean, conceivably, he could take them to the NBA Finals when you consider the fact that Luka hasn’t been 100%, Donovan Mitchell has got himself hurt, you look at the Warriors right now, you always question their health issues … the Phoenix Suns with Devin Booker out, but I want to say this: It could happen, but I ain’t predicting it.”

“I’ve been with the Warriors since Day One, and I ain’t jumping off that ship. It’s about the Warriors, and even though Ja Morant is spectacular … I still expect them to go home in the next round.”

One for the ages

A take with mixed feelings is something which defines Stephen A. Smith’s media career. But it is true nonetheless. Ja Morant has made a huge improvement in his game so much so that he has been awarded with the Most Improved Player just a few days ago. His averages of 27.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 1.2 steals cannot be overlooked.

But the Warriors are no pushover with the Splash Brothers waiting undeterred by anyone who comes their way. Of course, we have to wait for the series to take place before we can see the results. It surely will be one for the spectacles to see the new generation go against the champions of the old.
