Jung Ho-yeon, who rose to fame as a result of her role as the female protagonist in the Netflix drama “Squid Game,” recently took part in the “Vote for Korea: Vote well and chose well” campaign.
The campaign aimed to motivate voters to vote in Korea’s 20th presidential election, which will take place on the 9th of next month. It is a meaningful effort in which all celebrities throughout the generation engaged with a sincere desire to vote, with the goal of exercising the right to vote, which is a right of Korean people.
Participants were challenged by the organizer’s “choosing a ticket mark game” (similar to the Dalgona game in “Squid Game”), which was placed in the voting gift set box. “I failed every time I did it (the Dalgona game). I don’t think I’m good at it, but I’ll try to succeed today,” she admitted.
“Thankfully, “Squid Game” has been loved so much that I am having a busy schedule with various filming and interviews,” Jung Ho-yeon stated when questioned about her latest activities. “I’m auditioning and reading a lot of scripts to choose my next work,” she revealed.
Jung Ho-yeon was just nominated for the 2022 Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards’ Outstanding Performance By A Female Actor In A Drama Series, which is the main prize. “I was surprised and shocked because I wasn’t looking forward to it,” she said with a smile.
“I think voting is a must-exercise right because of our responsibility for the next generation. I hope everyone picks well and makes good choices,” Jung Ho-yeon said of her motivation for participating in the campaign to urge voting despite her busy schedule.
Jung Ho-yeon also said, “I think I am living to give a better life with a sense of responsibility for the next generation. Voting is taking responsibility for the next generation,” she stressed.
“Vote for Korea” featured MCs Kim Gu-ra, Kim Kook-jin, and Yoo Jae-seok, as well as actors Ko So-young, Kwon Yul, Lee Soon-jae, Jung Woo-sung, Cho Jin-woong, Park Jung-min, and Han Ye-ri. The primary cast of the drama “Squid Game,” Lee Jung-jae, Park Hae-soo, Jung Ho-yeon, Heo Sung-tae, and Wi Ha-joon, were also there.
