Spider-Man: No Way Home Andrew Garfield DeepFake Video Debunked
A video that was recently published had claimed to be the leaked video of Andrew Garfield on the sets of Spider-Man: No Way Home. However, much to fans dismay, it was a DeepFake video that has been debunked now.
Andrew Garfield has been speculated to be a part of the upcoming movie despite that he has denied it several times. Rumours have been fueled further by the confirmed appearance of Andrew’s former The Amazing Spider-Man 2 co-star, Jamie Foxx.
After the release of 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse; fans have been longing for the return of Spider-Man actors, Tobey Maguire and Andrew. This seemed even more possible with the appearance of Spider-Man: Homecoming’s Vulture appearing in Sony’s Venom. Even Phase 4 of MCU had hinted at the possibility of the multiverse.
After the events of WandaVision and Loki, and the announcement of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness; it kept getting stronger. When Doctor Strange was announced to be one of the featured characters in the then-unnamed Spider-Man movie, fans started speculating.
For fans of Tobey and Andrew, it was extremely exciting when the announcement of Alfred Molina and Jamie Foxx being a part of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Despite the fan theories and unconfirmed rumours, they were announced to reprise their roles as Doc Ock and Electro respectively.
This is when both Tobey and Andrew were also flooded with questions regarding their possible appearance in the highly anticipated movie. Andrew denied the rumours many times about his appearance but fans were still hopeful over the leaked pictures and videos. It showed him in the costume and these videos were quickly struck with copyright by Sony and taken down. Alex Cerrato had published a video that claimed; he created the leaked set video as a DeepFake to troll the internet.
But as per The Direct, the trolling is that the entire video was fake. Many VFX experts quickly pointed out the same. Even if the Youtuber admitted to it being fake; he says he is sure that the leaked video before was real. Andrew has always debunked all the rumours; and leaked footage and even claimed early this week that The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon is all Photoshop.
