Spider-Man Freshman Year Producer Explains How The Series Fits In The MCU Canon

Marvel Studios has officially released the concept arts of Spider-Man Freshman Year at the Comic Con & fans were quite confused as to if it’s a canon origin story then why its a little different than the story of Spiderman told for so many years and where it fits in the MCU.

At Comic-Con, Marvel Studios gave us a glimpse of the characters one can expect in the animated series. It revealed Peter Parker as a normal high school boy with spectacles. Also, with his initial suit look which he makes when, he discovers his powers.

A surprise reveals of Charlie Coxx’s Daredevil in his black and red suit. The series will also include characters like Harry Osborn, Amadeus Cho, Nico Minuro from the Runaways, Lonnie Lincoln, and more. Also, a similar image to what we saw in Captain America Civil War where Tony Stark arrives at Peter Parker’s house was also revealed.

People were in doubt that Norman Osborn replaced Tony Stark in the series.

But don’t worry all the questions were answered by the Producer of Spider-Man Freshman Year himself.

Producers Take On Spiderman’s Origin Story In MCU Canon

Winderbaum the producer of the animated show cleared people’s doubts in an interview with Comic Book. He said, ” Well, like we said, in the panel, it follows the pattern that you see in Captain America: Civil War. Down to Peter getting the broken Blu-ray player from the trash and he walks into his department for the famous moment where Tony Stark is waiting for him to offer him the Stark internship and take him to Berlin.”

He further shed some light on the topic saying that this animated series will take place in the multiverse. He says, ” But because of things that happen in the multiverse because of new, random occurrences, it’s not Tony Stark who’s waiting for him there. It’s Norman Osborn and that sends his life in an unexpected trajectory that collides him with many unexpected characters in the Marvel Universe.”

Spiderman Freshman Year will be released in the year 2024. Its season 2 will be called “Spider-Man Sophomore Year”.
