Sofia Richie Defends Her Support of Olivia Jade After Red Table Talk

Lori Loughlin’s daughter Olivia Jade Giannulli made an appearance in Facebook Watch’s Red Table Talk as she opened up about her parents’ prison sentences. She talked about the involvement of her parents in the college admissions scandal.

Olivia apologized for her family’s behavior as she said it is embarrassing within itself that she walked around her whole 20 years of life not realizing. She shared the “insane” privilege she had is something she was unaware of. “You’re like the poster child of white privilege and you had no idea,” she shared.

However, after she opened up about her parents, Sofia Richie quickly came to support her. The model commented on Olivia’s social media post as she commented, “Yes girl!!” She further shared that she cannot wait for what’s ahead.

Although this does not go down well with critics as she was accused of being too forgiving. One user wrote, “White privilege supporting white privilege” along with a clown emoji. The model responded to the criticism and said how we all are human who makes human mistakes.

Sofia further added that life is too short to wish negativity and send them love. She wrote, “we are all human, who make human mistakes. Life is too short to wish negativity on anyone. Sending you love.” Her fans also pointed out that she is of mixed race as her dad is Lionel Richie.

This will mark the first time Olivia is publicly sharing her side of the scandal as she was in a conversation with Jada Pinkett Smith, Willow Smith, and Adrienne Banfield Norris. She shared how she feels like she deserves a second chance to redeem herself to show how much she has grown.

The beauty YouTuber shared how there is no justification or excuses for what happened because it was wrong. She said, “There is no justifying or excusing what happened because what happened was wrong. And I think every single person in my family can be like, that was messed up. That was a big mistake.”

Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli are both currently serving their prison sentences and have paid a $400,000 combined fine. Olivia’s father is scheduled to be behind bars in Lompoc, California until April. Meanwhile, the Fuller House actress began her time back in October and might be out before Christmas.

Olivia was rumored to have felt extremely embarrassed when her staged rowing photos were revealed by prosecutors in April. She and her sister, Bella were both feeling distraught when their mother started her prison sentence. A source recently revealed that Olivia is vowing to try to do and be better.
