Shocked! Video of Jadeja Dropping Catch: Captaincy Pressure? CSK vs MI

Chennai Super Kings vs Mumbai Indians, 33rd Match (N), DY Patil, April 21, 2022, Indian Premier League

Match Result: Pending

Match Report: Another MI vs CSK match promises to be a thriller even though it is a relatively low-scoring game. It was possibly the worst start you could imagine for any team. Mumbai Indians lost both their openers on ducks. However, the match has panned out interesting afterward. The news that Pollard has retired from international cricket is still making the buzz in the cricketing circle. How CSK go about in this run chase is something to watch out for. Nothing much has changed in this El Clasico of IPL, it’s just that the Men in Yellow are now being captained by Jadeja.

Batting first, Mumbai Indians were troubled by a bowler who is playing his debut IPL season. Mukesh Chaudhary got rid of Rohit and Ishan Kishan in the first over itself. The ball to Ishan Kishan was a work of art and it completely deceived him. In his next over, Mukesh picked the wicket of young Dewald Brevis and MI had lost three top order batters inside the powerplay. Usually, the savior of MI; Suryakumar Yadav, failed to do what he has done consistently for his franchise. He fell out for a low score too.

Looking at the bowling chart, Mukesh Chaudhary was clearly the pick of the bowlers. He accounted for three wickets. Dwayne Bravo again proved his skills are still handy with two wickets to his tally. The spin specialist duo of Santner and Theekshana got one wicket to their name. Jadeja and Pretorious went wicketless but were not expensive either. As of writing this article, it is an evenly poised match.

Ishan Kishan – I always think this is the season’s biggest match, considering the number of times we have won the title and the rivalry that exists between us. It’s also important for us to win, we just need to continue playing with intensity. We always play to win, they (CSK) have a lot of experience, Dhoni behind the stumps backs his bowlers and passes a lot of information, so we need to be a step ahead of them. He (Sachin Tendulkar – mentor, Mumbai Indians) just told me to be myself, people know that I’m an attacking player and I shouldn’t play with any fear of failure.

Shivam Dube: It’s amazing to be a father. It feels difference and trying to be a good father, not a strict one. The confidence was much needed in my cricket in IPL, so I have got the confidence and I always felt that I had the skill and talent to perform well in the IPL, just needed to be given confidence and I got that from CSK. So, I’m showing my skills now. There is no pressure now, if you’re wearing Yellow jersey, there’s always big support from the fans and the support staff.
