Shefali Shah has begun filming for her upcoming feature film Darlings, which also stars Alia Bhatt. The dark comedy follows the lives of two ladies as they find courage and love in the most unusual of circumstances.
Shefali came to Instagram to share a photo of the film’s script, scripting, and production design “It’s now or never. Putting on new shoes.” A pair of slippers was seen in the second shot.
The film is set in Mumbai and is directed by Jasmeet K Reen. It is set in a conservative lower middle-class neighbourhood. Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment and Alia Bhatt’s Eternal Sunshine Productions are behind it.
Alia started filming for the project on Saturday and uploaded several photos from the first day. “It was my first picture as a producer on Day One of ‘Darlings,’ but I will always be an actress first and foremost” (in this case a very nervous actor). I’m not sure what it is… I have a tense tingling sensation all over my body the night before I start a new film.
“All night I think of messing up my lines… becoming nervous… I get to my sets 15 minutes early because I’m afraid I’ll be late. This emotion, I suppose, will never go away… “And it shouldn’t,” she said, “since being uncomfortable and unsure implies you truly, really care.” As she began the filming, Shah Rukh wished her well.
