Shane Watson confirms David Warner and Anrich Nortje availability for the game against LSG

Shane Watson, DC assistant coach, says David Warner and Anrich Nortje are eligible for selection against LSG.The Delhi Capitals will look to bounce back from a devastating 14-run loss against the Gujarat Titans in their last game.

Shane Watson, the Delhi Capitals’ assistant coach, has stated that David Warner and Anrich Nortje would be ready for selection just one day before their next encounter against Lucknow.

In terms of both their batting and bowling assaults, the news is a morale lift for the franchise.

“David Warner is officially out of quarantine and will play in tomorrow night’s game, which is really exciting.” Anrich Nortje has been doing really well since arriving in India a few of weeks ago.

“He passed his last type of fitness test to get through and be passed fit for selection last night, which is wonderful because he’s now eligible for selection,” Watson said in a virtual news conference prior to the game.

“Mitch Marsh is making excellent progress. Regardless of whether he is available for selection, there is still one more training session to complete tonight. But he’s been making great progress, which is amazing given the firepower he’ll bring to the Delhi squad,” he remarked.

At the two-day mega auction in February, DC paid INR 6.25 crore for David Warner. He missed the white-ball portion of the present competition after playing in the Test series against Pakistan.Anrich Nortje, on the other hand, was a must-retain player for Delhi this season.

He struggled with fitness and hasn’t played since November of last year due to a back and hip problem. As a result, the Proteas speedster was forced to sit out the first two games of DC’s season.
