Shahid Kapoor is not available for being free. The actor was supposed to work with Shashank Khaitan’s Yoddha, after Jersey and Raj and DK’s next, however, he walked away from the film at the last minute.
He was also in talks for several other movies which included the Hindi remake of Surarai Pottru. The movie was by Ram Madhvani and he was also a part of Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s directorial, Karna. He is making his OTT debut on Amazon Prime Video but he also has signed a huge deal with Netflix.
According to a source, the actor has been paid to the tune of over 70-80 crore for a trilogy that he is going to star in. the venture is said to be a period mythological war saga that will be adapted from Amish Tripathi’s novel. On top of that, Shahid will mark his debut in production with this as well.
Shahid has been waiting to set up his own production house for quite some time. The actor was almost starting his own banner with Dingko Singh biopic, however, it fell apart. Sources claim that Netflix has now signed a mutual agreement on this project. The project will most likely feature him and is going to be ambitious period venture designed on the lines of Baahubali but only for the web.
This will also mark as another mythological project for him after Karna. There were reports of the actor walking out of the Dharma Productions film, Yoddha. The reason for him walking out was not revealed, however, Shashank has refuted the rumors last week. He claims he is still in talks with the actor but because of the global pandemic, it has become difficult to shoot or start production.
According to Shashank, he is still working out the details of the movie with Shahid and is waiting for him to provide new dates. They are planning to start production once normalcy is restored as it has to be shot in multiple locations. As per sources, Shashank is planning to shoot the venture in four countries. While Shahid Kapoor was to shoot for Yoddha post-Jersey, the actor gave his dates to Raj & DK’s web-show.
