Shah Rukh Khan – Rise To Fame

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has completed 28 years in the film industry today. His journey has been like a roller coaster ride. But one thing that has remained constant is his dedication and passion for acting. Coming from New Delhi, the actor is now someone who has not just won the hearts of the nation, but of several people all across the globe.

Television

Those who are a true SRK fan, know very well that he had started his acting career with the small screen. His first TV serial was Fauji in the year 1989. He went on to appear in other TV shows like Circus and Idiot.

Films

He finally made his debut in the Bollywood industry with the 1992 film Deewana. It was the role of second male lead in the film that starred Rishi Kapoor and Divya Bharti.

The breakthrough in his career came with the film Baazigar when he had his first success as a leading star. The actor started receiving love from the audience. But his fame shot to another level when he delivered the films Karan Arjun and Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge in 1995. Both these cult films are loved even today by the audience.

Although he was known for his romantic roles, SRK experimented and took up negative roles in films like Darr and Anjaam. Even his negative avatar was loved by the audience. Not just that, he received critical acclaim as well.

Overseas Box-office success

Films like Dil Toh Pagal Hai, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Mohabbatein and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham made him a global superstar. Out of 33 Bollywood films that have been a blockbuster overseas, 22 of them belong to Shah Rukh alone.

Having actors like Akshay Kumar, Aamir Khan and Hrithik Roshan as his competitors didn’t affect his work. Along with films having mass appeal, the actor has delivered films that have been loved by the critics. From My Name Is Khan to Dear Zindagi, his films have been a piece of art.

Philanthropic work

There are several other stars in the industry who do philanthropic work and flaunt it off proudly on social media. But that is not the case with our Bollywood King. His NGO Meer Foundation has been working towards social causes for years now. But it is less than often when we have heard about it from SRK.

In his 28 year-long journey in Bollywood, Shah Rukh has just been gaining more and more fans each day. His candid and witty nature, his down-to-earth attitude, and his love for his fans is something that has made him not just a star but a superstar.
