On Monday, actor Randeep Hooda published a photo of himself with his pet dog on Instagram. What made the film unique was his pet’s participation in the actor’s puja ceremony.

Randeep was pictured standing in front of a table with his hands folded, surrounded by deity figurines. Randeep is closed-eyed, and his pet stands next him, two front legs resting on the table, as if it, too, is praying.

Randeep Hooda was recently chastised after an old video of him making disrespectful remarks about Mayawati, the leader of the Bahujan Samaj Party, appeared online. The nine-year-old video showed him cracking a “joke” that social media users condemned as casteist and sexist. It quickly became popular on the internet.
