Season 2 of Fate: The Winx Saga is now in production

Season 2 of Netflix’s Fate: The Winx Saga has officially begun production. The teen drama is a live-action adaptation of Nickelodeon’s Winx Club, an animated series about Bloom, a fairy fighter who attends Alfea College to develop her talents.

Despite the fact that the show was only scheduled to last for three seasons, it was so popular that it was renewed for a further eight—the Netflix adaption launched in January 2021 to mixed reviews. Despite the negative reviews, Netflix renewed the show for a second season in February.

The live-action adaption stars a cast of characters who are based on the major players from Winx Club, but it takes a radically different approach to Alfea College. Brian Young, who is most known for his work on The Vampire Diaries, brought the same edge to the production of Fate: The Winx Saga.

The show ditches the bright outfits in favour of a darker, more realistic look and feel. Season 1 featured Blood Witches, Burned Ones, and attempted murder in six episodes. With an ancient power burning inside Bloom (Abigail Cowen) and new leadership in Alfea, the season concluded on a cliffhanger.

The cast and crew have met once again to begin production on season two, so fans shouldn’t have to wait long. A familiar personality joined a few newcomers for a socially distant table read of a script in a video uploaded to Netflix UK & Ireland’s YouTube page.

The video follows various cast members on set throughout the day as they show their enthusiasm for the new season. The camera also glides over some of the new cast members’ name badges, including Paulina Chávez, who plays Flora, a character that many fans missed in season 1.

Netflix hasn’t said when the eight-episode second season will premiere, but fans can await it in early 2022. Those interested in learning more about the filming of Fate: The Winx Saga can follow the series on Instagram and other social media platforms.
