Sci-fi Series Orphan Black To Exit From Netflix Across The World In August 2021

The sad news for the fans is that all the 5 seasons of Tatiana Maslany’s sci-fi action series Orphan Black are set to depart from Netflix outside the United States from August 2021.

The series was released in Canada by Temple Street Productions and BBC America.

Where Was The Show Broadcasted?

It was broadcasted on Space in Canada and BBC America in the US. Apart from these two regions, Orphan Black was also sold to Netflix.

Netflix hosted the show worldwide for many years. The season four and season five released on Netflix weekly.

Not all regions have labelled Orphan Black as Netflix Original, however. But the fans still got to watch the show!

What Is Orphan Black About?

The web series was presented by Graeme Manson and John Fawcett. The story revolved around a conspiracy involving the production clones scattered throughout the world.

When Will The Show Leave Netflix?

A total of 50 episodes were released spanning across five seasons being broadcasted from 2013 and 2017.

In many regions, the sci-fi series has been airing since mid-2014 so it can easily be considered one of the oldest Netflix Originals but now it is time Orphan Black reaches its end.

It is set to depart from most of the regions where it was broadcasted (at least 35 countries according to Unogs) on August 13, 2021.

What Next?

About where the show will appear next is not yet defined. Ideally it can be anticipated due to the involvement of BBC Worldwide that it will come to BBC iPlayer but most likely it will simply go to the highest buyer (if anyone is there).

Netflix US or Netflix Canada had never been a host of this series even though it was labelled as a Netflix Original abroad.

Currently, Prime Video and AMC + are the two leading broadcast platforms in the US while the show is fully available on Crave, Canada.
