Salman Khan Confirms That Radhe Will Be Postponed If Lockdown Continues

Radhe- Your Most Wanted Bhai starring Salman Khan, was reportedly going to release on schedule. It was supposed to release on Eid but it seems like the plans might not pan out as expected.

The second wave of coronavirus has led to an extreme increase in the cases. Maharashtra state is likely to go into lockdown once again. Currently, the state is in a lockdown-like situation until April 30 and if the cases do not cease, the release might be delayed.

If that happens, the movie will not make it to the theaters on Eid which falls on May 13, 2021. Kabir Bedi recently posted a video where he was seen talking to Salman Khan while promoting his autobiography, Stories I Must Tell. During the conversation, Kabir asked Salman about the status of Radhe.

The actor revealed that they are still trying their best to release the movie on Eid. However, he admitted if the lockdown continues, then they might have to delay it to the next Eid. He said, “We are still trying our best to release Radhe – Your Most Wanted Bhai on Eid. If this lockdown continues, then we might have to push it to next Eid.”

Salman shared that if cases reduce and if people take care of themselves and maintain the necessary precautions then the second wave would die off. He said, “But if cases reduce (and) if people take care of themselves, wear masks, maintain social distance and don’t break these rules put by the government, I think this (the second wave) would die off very soon. And if it does, then we’ll have Radhe – Your Most Wanted Bhai in theatres on Eid.”

“So everyone should take (the second wave) very, very seriously….”

The Dabangg actor further added that if citizens don’t listen and cases of COVID continue to grow, then it will pose a problem. He said it will affect more than just theatre owners but also daily wage workers. The star said that it will prove to be bad just like it was during the last lockdown.

Salman said, “However, if the citizens don’t listen and the cases of coronavirus continue to grow, then it’ll pose a problem not only to the theatre owners but also to the daily wage workers. It’ll prove to be bad just like it was (during the last lockdown). So everyone should take (the second wave) very, very seriously and ensure that we kill this coronavirus and that we move on in our lives before it kills us all.”

He further concluded that by the grace of God, his film is good and will work as well. However, he emphasizes that the important thing is that people should not get the virus. Radhe- The Most Wanted Bhai is directed by Prabhu Dheva and it also features actors Disha Patani, Randeep Hooda, and Jackie Shroff.

The movie business had just started getting back to normal; with the release of movies like Roohi on March 11 and Mumbai Saga on March 19. Few highly anticipated movies were also lined up for April 2021 release. Movies like Chehre and Bunty Aur Babli 2 were pushed ahead before the state declared a lockdown. After the announcement of lockdown-like restrictions, the makers of the film; Sooryavanshi also made it official that their venture will not release on April 30.
